HOW DO RENTALS WORK?

In the rental store we offer you try the dress on, make sure everything is fit, we require our customer book a fitting appointment with us, so we can spend time 2 hours 1 on 1 service for you.

 

Perfect for special occasions, event rentals allow you to reserve items in advance for specific dates. We offer 10-day rental periods.

WHAT IF MY EVENT RENTAL DOESN'T FIT?

In the store we shouldn’t have this problem!

 

Order online If one or all the styles in your order don’t fit, you can get a replacement for $25 (shipping plus tax) within the first 24 hours of your rental period. After that time, we are unable to provide a replacement. Select your replacement by following these steps:

If we can’t send a replacement in time for your event, you’ll receive credit on your account for the cost of your order less shipping. To remain eligible for your credit, you must reach out to us within the first 24 hours of your rental period.

CAN I EXTEND MY EVENT RENTAL?

In store rental just drop off our store locations. 


Order online We don’t offer the option to extend the return date of your event rentals because they are likely reserved by another customer for future dates. Please drop your order off at a UPS location by 12 p.m. on the last day of your rental period.

HOW DO FREE BACKUP SIZES WORK?

In the store we shouldn’t have this problem!

 

We offer one free backup size with every event rental. Free backup sizes do not apply to each style in your order.

HOW ARE GARMENTS CLEANED, INCLUDING TO PREVENT THE SPREAD OF VIRUSES SUCH AS COVID-19?

All our garments, accessories, hangers and reusable packaging are meticulously cleaned each time they are returned to us.

Our cleaning agents and practices are designed to kill viruses.

The teams in our fulfillment centers use a variety of techniques to ensure that each garment is thoroughly cleaned, steamed and pressed, inspected for quality and carefully packaged so that it arrives ready to wear. All garments go through a cleaning process. Most pieces also go through an additional steaming process which heats items to between 248°F and 302°F with the exception of faux fur, select outerwear, leather and faux leather garments, which still go through our standard cleaning processes. According to the CDC, flu viruses are killed by heat above 167°F. Every garment is then enclosed in plastic for protection and cleanliness, which we ask customers to return for recycling.

ARE YOUR REUSABLE GARMENT BAGS CLEANED AFTER EACH USE?

Yes, our garment bags, which are used and reused, are thoroughly cleaned after every use. Our cleaning agents and practices are designed to kill viruses such as the common cold and flu. While scientific information is still developing, we have no reason to believe that our processes are ineffective against COVID-19.

AM I ABLE TO WASH OR DRY -CLEAN MY ITEMS?

No need to clean your items on your own, we take care of that for you! Our proprietary cleaning operation is the heart and soul of our business—and we take it very seriously. Our dedicated associates are true masters of their craft, ensuring that all our pieces stay in excellent condition.

 

But if you got the dress very dirty, very have to charge $50-$200 clean fee. For example, pictures!

WHAT HAPPENS IF I RETURN MY EVENT RENTAL LATE?

When you return something late, it means the next person who was planning on wearing that style no longer can.

Returns must be dropped off with the shipping carrier noted on your return label by 12pm on or before the return date specified in your order. You are liable for any late fees incurred, regardless of any third party involved with the return. Do not leave your returns with any third party (for example, your hotel, mailroom or friend).

If you lose your return label or packaging, you can return your items in any box or mailer, and you can generate a new return label by following the steps here.

Late fee(s) of up to $50 per day will be charged to your card on file for each order that is not returned on time.

If you have not returned a rental item within 7 days after the return date, your late return will be considered a non-return and Rent the Runway will charge your payment method on file the then current 'to buy' price + tax for each item minus previously paid late fees and sales tax.

HOW DO I RETURN MY ORDER?

In store, Dorp off our store!

 

Online return Pack up your rentals in the garment bag they came in. Be sure to return accessories and handbags in their dust bags or boxes. If you choose to send the hangers or plastic dry-cleaning bags back with your rentals, we'll recycle them!


Remove the prepaid return label from the inside pocket of the garment bag and insert it into the plastic pouch on the outside of the bag. Fold the bag, tuck in the handles, and zip it shut. Then, you're ready to send your garment bag back via UPS.

Please be sure to return it on or before your rental end date, or you will be charged late fees in accordance with our policy.

MY RENTAL PERIOD ENDS ON A SUNDAY OR A HOLIDAY. WHEN SHOULD I RETURN MY RENTAL?

Although most shipping carriers are closed on Sundays and observed holidays, you can still send your items back via UPS drop box on your rental end date. If you are sending your items back at an UPS store which may be closed on Sunday or a holiday, you may drop it off by 12pm on the day following your rental end date and you will not be charged late fees.
